Your privacy matters

Your journal is yours. By default, Mon Carnet keeps everything on your device.

Default: local only

• Your entries, notebooks, and data are stored only in your browser (local storage)
• We don't collect or see that data unless you choose to back it up to the cloud
• Your data stays on your device unless you export it or turn on cloud backup

Optional cloud backup

If you sign in (e.g. with Google or email), you can back up your journal to the cloud so you can restore it on another device or keep a copy. In that case:

• Your backup is stored with our cloud provider (Google Firebase). We use it only to provide backup and restore to you.
• We don't sell or share your data with anyone.
• You can sign out anytime; your data remains in your browser, and we stop syncing new data to the cloud.

What we don't do

• We don't sell or share your data
• We don't use tracking cookies or invasive analytics

Analytics

We may use basic analytics (e.g. page views) to understand how Mon Carnet is used. This does not identify you or your journal content.

Bottom line

Your journal is yours. By default we never see it. If you use cloud backup, we use it only to give you that backup—nothing else.

• Keep your data on your device only (default), or optionally sign in to back up and restore from the cloud
• Export your data anytime

• A simple, private journal with different notebook styles (gratitude, free write, seven sentence ritual)
• Local storage of your data in your browser; optional cloud backup if you sign in
• A service that respects your privacy

Important notes

• Mon Carnet is for personal reflection and is not a substitute for professional mental health or medical care.
• We're not responsible for data loss if you clear your browser data or if you rely on cloud backup and lose access to your account.
• We may update the app from time to time but will keep it privacy-focused.
